21st October 2019

Another week goes by and its time for another Bulletin. We are beginning to prepare for the Fun Run and so keep the date of February 19th 2020 free as we will be requiring all the help that we can get!
If you want anything included do write a short piece so that I can cut and paste in. I apologise if I have missed items but I am always working to a short deadline!

Last week's Meeting
We presented our overseas Exchange Student Kieran Trainor with his New Zealand Rotary Jacket.  Kieran gave us his presentation for his Exchange year in Denmark for which he had done some great graphics. The meeting also gave him some ideas on other uniquely New Zealand items he could add to the presentation.  It will be great to see how he develops over the year and we wish him all the best. We look forward to hearing how he is getting on through Swee, who has taken on the role of Kierans counsellor.
RIDE LIKE A GIRL - Movie
SOLD OUT
We will be organising the cheque to be presented to Polio Plus once the event has completed. This has been a great exercise in getting a few local clubs together to raise money for a Rotary cause.  We will present the cheque in conjunction with Pakuranga, Somerville, Auckland South and Pohutakawa Coast.  see https://rotarydistrict9920.org/page/polio-all-trains-event-2019

Connected Learning Centre - Praisegiving
We have been invited to the annual "praisegiving" for the students at the Connected Learning Centre at Tangaroa College. This is on the 28th November at 12pm. Mary Ann has given great support to the centre and Maeva, The Centre Director sent us these kind words
This term is certainly a time to step back and reflect on the parts that people have played and we wanted to also thank you and ask you and your organisation to celebrate alongside us for being a part of the success of the Connected Learning Centre.  Talking with the students this week we are reminded that we are truly 'connected' and we all play our parts, whether great and small, but they are significant to the overall goal for each and every one of us.
