Pakuranga Rotary's Annual Trivia & Auction Night, this year with an exciting Wearable Arts theme at Edgewater College on Saturday September 7th. Shane Cortese is the MC for the night.
A light supper will be served with a cash bar and EFTPOS available. $25 a ticket or $250 for a table of 10. It would be good to get a table - let  me know if you are interested,   Passmore.nz@outlook.com
 
For those wanting to find out more about the workings of Rotary and are interested in leadership positions.The next Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) on Saturday 7 September and Sunday 8 September 2019. This will be held at Selwyn College.

RYLA Breakfast is fast approaching and preparation is going well. Please contact your designated personnel and remember the event is at the Waipuna Conference Suites at the Crossing. There will be an update this week.
 
Highbrook Rotary are sponsoring a Rotary Youth Exchange Outbound Student, Kieran Trainor, from Pakuranga College. Kieran will be spending a year in Denmark with a range of host families while he attends a local school. Swee Han Lim will be his counsellor from our club. We will be meeting Kieran before he leaves.
 
Dana is organising a vocational visit to her business in East Tamaki. Watch this space for details!

Last week's speaker
Richard Myhre, the first president of Highbrook Rotary, gave us a background of how he came to Auckland from his home town of Christchurch. He went on to tell us about the Otara Waterways and Lakes Trust, of which he is a board member.  Detailing the History of the Trust and the initiatives that are on going to . Projects run in Otara such as Neat Street, Adopt a Spot, Cycle repair and the issues of cleaning up rubbish in the area.
